Tyus Battle Enjoys UConn Visit

Tyus BattleTyus Battle, the 6-foot-6 2016 combo guard from Gill St. Bernard’s, visited UConn Sunday for their dramatic 55-54 loss to Texas in which Jonathan Holmes hit a game-winning 3-pointer with 2.2 seconds left.

Battle has been to UConn before, and head coach Kevin Ollie reinforced the pitch that he would love to coach Battle.

“Tyus would be a big combo guard and would be counted on to contribute immediately,” Gary Battle, Tyus’ father, said of Ollie’s pitch. “[Ollie said] Tyus would look great in red, white and blue.”

Battle recently cut his list to 11 and is now considering UConn, Duke, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Syracuse, Villanova and Virginia.

He has no other visits planned at the moment.
