JUCO Forward Deshawn Freeman to Visit Rutgers

JUCO forward Deshawn Freeman of Hutchinson (KS) Community College will visit Rutgers Dec. 15, he tells SNY.tv.

The 6-foot-8, 220-pound North Carolina native spoke Monday with Rutgers head man Eddie Jordan, who is on a recruiting roll, having picked up pledges from Hargrave (VA) Military guard Justin Goode and wing Kejuan Johnson in recent days.

“He said he wants me to be a part of his team,” Freeman told SNY.tv. of Jordan. “HE said their offense is just like the [Washington] Wizards. The Wizards was my favorite team when he was there.”

Numerous other schools are recruiting Freeman, including Arizona State, Seton Hall, Virginia Tech, Marquette and St. John’s.

“Deshawn is a versatile, hybrid four man who is relentless underneath and on the boards,” Hutchinson assistant Jay Cyriac said. “He puts the ball on the floor fairly well and can be a matchup problem. His best days are ahead of him.”
