Briscoe, Labissiere to Announce Thursday on ESPNU (UPDATED)

Briscoe decisionIsaiah Briscoe and Skal Labissiere will both announce their college decisions between 6-7 p.m. EST on Thursday on ESPNU’s “Basketball Signing Day Special.”

Briscoe Tweeted: “EspnU Thursday 6 pm Ill Be Deciding What College I Will Attend Next Fall !!! Sju , BBN , Uconn.”

ESPN confirmed the announcements in a press release.

The 6-3 Briscoe is down to Kentucky, St. John’s and UConn, and visited St. John’s for their exhibition game on Saturday against St. Thomas Aquinas. He told SNY.tv the visit went “great.”

Briscoe broke down all three schools in his USA Today blog:

With St. John’s, first off, just staying home and having my family and friends and fans around and being able to watch me play all the time is great. Then, playing in The Garden, it doesn’t get any better than that; plus it’s New York City and that’s the biggest market in the world! I’m cool with the coaches and I think it would be a great fit.

Then with UConn you’ve got Coach (Kevin) Ollie who has played 13 seasons in the NBA as a point guard and I would love to learn from him because of that.

Who wouldn’t want to learn from a guy who’s been there; we’ve got a great relationship too. Then the whole staff there played point guard at UConn and I love the campus.

At Kentucky, it’s basically like a machine of producing players that go to the NBA early; who wouldn’t want to be a part of that? Then their whole style of play fits my game perfectly and the support from the fans is crazy there.

So y’all see I’ve got three schools that would, honestly, be perfect for me.

It’s tough because you develop all of these different relationships with these different coaches and in the end you know it’ll only come down to one.

I feel like I’ll know when I know if that makes sense.

The 6-10 Labissiere is down to Kentucky, Memphis, North Carolina, Georgetown, Baylor and Tennessee.

“I think he’s going to Kentucky,” a source told Evan Daniels of Scout.com. “I think it’s done.”

Kentucky has one commit for 2015 in 6-foot-6 Chicago St. Rita shooting guard Charles Matthews, and he is expected to sign either scholarship papers or an NLI with Kentucky this week, possibly Friday, a source told SNY.tv.

By the time he does, Kentucky could have three commits in the Class of 2015 if both Briscoe and Labissiere opt to play for coach John Calipari.
