    Doral Moore, a 7-foot center from Montverde (FL) Academy, is off the board to Wake Forest.

    “Doral has decided to end his recruitment by committing to Wake Forest University,” Montverde assistant Rae Miller said.

    “He really liked Wake Forest because it is a small school,” Miller added. “He’s looking for someplace that he feels comfortable and a small setting is something that he has embraced, especially since coming here [to Montverde]. He likes [coach] Danny Manning, and made a good connection with Danny Manning as a coach. His demeanor and the kid’s demeanor kind of made a match for the kid and his family. They really have a genuine interest in helping him develop. The style of play is going to be similar to what he is now used to and he feels he has a chance to contribute to the program early in his career.”

    Kentucky is impressed by the transformation that Isaiah Briscoe has made over the past year.

    That was the message conveyed Tuesday by assistant Barry “Slice” Rohrssen after he met with the 6-foot-3 Briscoe following his recent official visit to Kentucky.

    “Today was a great opportunity to sit down with Coach Slice and talk about Kentucky and how they feel about Isaiah,” Roselle Catholic head coach Dave Boff told SNY.tv. “Kentucky has been really impressed by the work Isaiah has done in the Roselle Catholic strength and conditioning program and how hard he has worked to change his body and improve his athleticism.”

    Jalen Poyser, a 6-foot-4 point guard from Canada’s Athlete Institute and CIA Bounce, is looking forward to his official visit to UNLV beginning Oct. 16.

    UNLV assistant Todd Simon coached Poyser at Findlay Prep before the floor general returned home to Canada to Athlete Institute.

    “I like UNLV because my old high school coach coaches there and going there I can make a big impact being a freshman,” Poyser told SNY.tv. “I’ll get great minutes, and I’ll be able to play my game.

    Poyser has also taken an official to Rhode Island and an unofficial to St. Bonaventure.

    “I have interest in schools like Rhody, UNLV, St. Bonaventure, Michigan and Michigan State. but right now Rhody and UNLV are the only two officials,” he said, adding that Michigan and MSU have not offered.

    Marquette

    Henry Ellenson, the 6-foot-10 Rice Lake (WI) power forward, enjoyed his recent visit to Marquette, and they remain the overwhelming favorite to land him, according to sources and the 247Sports Crystal Ball, which has 77 percent of analysts picking the Golden Eagles.

    ““It was good,” Ellenson told Evan Daniels of Scout.com. “It was just nice to go down and visit campus. I’d been there before. But just go on my own and just talk to the coaches and see the blueprint they have for me. It was good.”

    Wally Ellenson, a junior guard and Henry’s older brother, is on the Marquette roster after transferring from Minnesota.

    “It helps,” Henry said. “It’s another bonus for sure. It’s nice because you get the insight he has. You get to hear what he has to say. If they are saying something you can see if it’s true. It’s really helpful.”

    After visiting Ole Miss this past weekend and witnessing the football team’s epic victory over traditional national power Alabama, Malik Newman was positively glowing about the school — and its chances to land him.

    “I actually can see myself there,” he told Courtney Cronin of The Clarion-Ledger. “The team is really good and they’re winning. Like Coach (Andy Kennedy) said, I think I can be their piece to get them over the hump.”

    The 6-foot-4 Newman out of Jackson (MS) Calloway witnessed Ole Miss’ biggest football victory in years, a 23-17 win over Alabama that has them in the national playoff picture.
