Nakye Sanders to Duquesne

IMG_5404.jpeg

Nakye Sanders , a 6-foot-7 forward from Staten Island Tottenville and New Heights, has committed to Duquesne, according to New Heights coach Chris Alesi.

He also considered Temple, VCU, La Salle, Drexel, St. John’s, Towson, Old Dominion and Seton Hall

“Nakye’s upside is really high,” Alesi said. “He won’t turn 17 until November. His greatest attributes are his relentless motor and he cares about winning. His initial plan was to wait until the the spring, but Duquesne did a great job in showing him how much they needed him.

“He fell in love with the place this weekend on his official visit and has really built a trusting relationship with Jim Ferry and Brian Nash. I am incredibly happy for Nakye, his family and his coaches at Tottenville. The Atlantic 10 is a major conference , and I have no doubt that he will develop into an all-conference caliber player”
