Haanif Cheatham to Marquette

Haanif Cheatham, a top prospect from Florida, has committed to Marquette.

Ranked No. 51 in the class of 2015 by 247 Sports, Cheatham played for Nike Team Florida this past summer on the EYBL circuit, averaging 16.9 points per game. The smooth lefty will be a senior at Pembroke Pines Charter this coming season.

“I can really play the one or the two, and Marcus Paige is one of the best in the country at that,” Cheatham told SNY.tv in a previous interview. “Him being a lefty as well that can score at both positions is something that I really think that I can do. Marcus Smart is another player that I model my game after, his ability to be so tough and do everything on the court is definitely something that I watch.”

Cheatham is the third pickup for head coach Steve Wojciechowski alongside of Nick Noskowiak and Matt Heldt

Listed at 6-foot-5, Cheatham chose the Golden Eagles over Georgetown and Cal.
