Wichita State Lands Combo Guard Landry Shamet

Wichita State has landed a verbal pledge from Landry Shamet, a 6-foot-4 combo guard out of Kansas City (MO) Park Hill.

Shamet, who can play the one, two and three positions, cancelled official visits to Colorado, Kansas State and Illinois in the wake of his commitment. He also had offers from Minnesota, Nebraska and Missouri.

“I just loved it too much and I knew it in my heart that that’s where I wanted to go,” Shamet told SNY.tv. “I liked being around those guys and playing with those guys. And I really have a great relationship with the coaching staff down there. I just can’t wait to be a part of it.

“I will bring versatility and hard work to their program. I can play either guard spot and I’m going to work and work to continue to get better each and every day.”
