Montaque “Teki” Gill-Caesar has often been compared to Andrew Wiggins.
Now the 6-foot-6, 215-pound Canadian wing from Huntington (W.V.) Prep has one more thing in common with Wiggins.
He has reclassed ahead one year to the Class of 2014 and is headed to college.
“I’m so excited to be joining the University of Missouri family and cannot wait to get on campus and get to work,” Gill-Caesar told MUTigers.com. “Everything about my visit to Mizzou was perfect, but I wanted to be thorough make the decision that was best for me and my family. I already had great relationships with Coach Rob [Fulford] and Coach [Tim] Fuller, but having a chance to meet Coach [Kim] Anderson and get to know him on a personal level just put everything over the top. I want to thank my family and everyone at Huntington Prep for their support and I’m ready to be a Missouri Tiger.”
Edward Morrow has planned official visits to Iowa and Nebraska, he told SNY.tv on Friday.
The Nebraska visit, of course, arrives as no surprise. Both of Morrow’s parents attended the school, with Tim Miles using that to drive his recruitment.
“They’re recruiting me the hardest,” Morrow said. “They pressure me the most.”That earned Miles an important visit. Last year, Nebraska earned a surprise NCAA Tournament berth and can build off of momentum.
P.J. Dozier, a 6-foot-7 2015 shooting guard out of Columbia (S.C.) Spring Valley, has named a top five.
Dozier Tweeted that his top five consists of Louisville, North Carolina, Georgetown, South Carolina and Michigan.
His father, former South Carolina player Perry Dozier, told SNY.tv his son will visit Louisville Aug. 31 and South Carolina Oct. 17. No other dates are set at this point.
Kentucky showed “strong interest” in Dozier but has not offered, his father said.
While he is quite far away from playing on a college floor, rising freshman Will Dillard is already showing why he could carry on the legacy of top guards from North Carolina.
The 6-foot-1 Dillard shook up the basketball world a bit in Louisville, where he played significant minutes for Team Felton 17U (3 age groups up), scored 7 points and added 7 assists in a 3-point win over Ohio Elite, and led Team Felton to the Championship game in the Bronze bracket at the Super Showcase.
“It feels really good,” Dillard told SNY.tv after the win. “Being able to play on the 17U team and to have a leadership role is pretty big, but I feel like I was ready for it.”
