Jarred Reuter to Virginia

Virginia wasn’t even on the list of schools Jarred Reuter was considering for much of July.

The 6-foot-8 Reuter out of Brewster (N.H.) Academy was thinking about Providence, Rhode Island, Iowa and South Carolina — and then Virginia offered him a scholarship.

That changed everything and now he is going to play for the Cavaliers.

“I like the coaches and players a lot and I think I fit really well with their offense and style of play,” Reuter told SNY.tv of his decision to choose the ACC school.

Reuter, Virginia’s first 2015 commit, does many of the things every coach needs. He rebounds, he works hard in the paint, he’s tough and he can score for you, too.

“Jarred plays very physical,” Brewster coach Jason Smith told SNY.tv. “He’s more physical than most high school-aged kids. He’s an exceptional passer for a post player.”
