Stephen Zimmerman – a 7-foot- 2015 big out of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman High – has finalized his five official visit schools and dates.

Recently, Zimmerman reported he would officially visit Kansas the weekend of ‘Late Night at the Phog,’ scheduled on Oct. 10, and Kentucky the following weekend for ‘Big Blue Madness.”

He has added three other official visits to close out the five allowed by the NCAA.

2014 adidas Super 64Chase Jeter will make his college decision this week but won’t announce until sometime in the next two weeks — possibly at the Adidas Nations event in early August.

“I think I’m going to make my decision this week,” the 7-foot Jeter, who has helped lead his Dream Vision AAU club into the Adidas Super64 semifinals, told Jeff Borzello of CBSSports.com in Las Vegas. “And then I’ll probably announce in two weeks or so.”

Dream Vision director Clay Williams told SNY.tv in May that Jeter might announce at Adidas Nations, which runs Aug. 1-5.

“We had discussed that, it’s an option,” Jeter previously told SNY.tv.

LAS VEGAS — Braxton Blackwell knew he’d be popular this summer.

As a 6-foot-7 rising junior, college coaches were allowed to begin contacting the Nashville (TN) C.P.A. small forward directly on June 15, and after averaging 19.6 points and 11.2 rebounds for his high school team last year, he figured to receive plenty of attention.

But after showing well on the summer circuit, Blackwell’s status has risen even higher. He’s rated as a consensus top-40 player in his class, and this week he was one of the most impressive 2016 players in Las Vegas at the adidas Super 64.

USA Basketball

Ater tipping off training camp on July 24 with 32 athletes, the list of finalists for the 2014 USA Basketball Men’s U17 World Championship Team has been pared to 17 of the nation’s top 17-and-under basketball players.

Headlined by the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship MVP Malik Newman (Callaway H.S./Jackson, Miss.), the list of finalists includes 10 members of the 2013 USA U16 National Team that captured gold and seven international rookies who are all jockeying for a spot on the final 12-member team.

Finalists were selected by the USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team Committee, chaired by USA Basketball Men’s National Team Director Sean Ford, and the official 2014 USA U17 World Championship Team will be named prior to Aug. 1.

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- Malik Beasley’s AAU career is now over, but that won’t stop him from working hard to end the summer.

“It’s tough, but I had a lot of fun,” Beasley told SNY.tv after a 58-50 loss to Chicago Lockdown in the Silver Bracket in the Gold Super Showcase. “It’s time to get back to work tomorrow, so that I can kill for the rest of the summer.”

Beasley has a deadline set to let schools know what his list will be.

“I’m waiting until the end of July to let everyone know what my top 7 or 10 schools are,” Beasley said.
