NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Jayson Tatum has put on a show at Peach Jam so far, leading the St. Louis Eagles 16U squad to a 2-0 start, after being a late addition to the team.

“I felt like if I went out there and gave them what they needed, I felt like I could lead them to the championship,” Tatum said. “The 17U team didn’t make it to Peach Jam, so they were alright with me coming to help these guys out.”

Tatum played in front of a crowd of coaches that consisted of Michigan State’s Tom Izzo, Arizona’s Book Richardson, Duke’s Nate James and Jon Scheyer, UNC’s Roy Williams, and a trio of Georgetown coaches. He says that he notices who comes and watches.

“It’s a big thing for me,” Tatum said. “I do notice the guys who come and watch me play.”

Tatum has said previously that he will consider attending school with Harry Giles, Dennis Smith Jr. and Seventh Woods.

“We’re probably going to talk about it a lot more next week, (at USA Trials in Colorado Springs)” Tatum said. “We’ll all be in the same place. It’s something we’re thinking about. It’s not set in stone yet, but we do like talking about things like that.”
