Isaiah Briscoe has trimmed his list to seven schools and is targeting a fall decision, as first reported by SNY.tv.
George Briscoe said his son, a 6-foot-3 combo guard from Roselle (N.J.) Catholic and the Playaz Basketball Club, is now considering UConn, Villanova, Louisville, Arizona, St. John’s, Seton Hall and Rutgers.
After cutting his list, Briscoe went out and dropped 61 points in a Tri-State Classic Game in New York City.
“He wants to visit Louisville, Arizona and UConn by the summer, but we don’t have any dates set,” George told SNY.tv by phone. “It’s going to be in August.”
Briscoe, ranked No. 20 in the Class of 2015 by ESPN.com, has already taken local visits to St. John’s, Seton Hall and Rutgers.
“We visited those schools already,” his dad said.
George said Isaiah also hopes to cut the list further to three by the end of the summer.
“We’re going to cut it to three by the end of the summer and we’ll decide not long after that,” he said. “Early fall.”
Briscoe just won a gold medal with the USA U18 team in Colorado Springs, CO.
His father said he was also invited to the Elite 24 Game Aug. 23 in New York.
“Obviously, Isaiah and his family have put a lot of thought into narrowing his list of college choices,” RC coach Dave Boff told SNY.tv. “I think whatever school he picks he will be able to make an immediate impact. His ability to handle the ball and get the ball to people in areas where they can make plays is a tremendous asset for any of the schools to have in a point guard. Also his experience with Team USA was a very positive for one for him and allowed him to continue his maturation as not only a point guard but as an overall basketball player.”
