UNION, N.J. — Highly coveted forward Cheick Diallo will visit Kentucky this weekend, sources confirmed to SNY.tv.
The news was first reported by Alex Kline of The Recruit Scoop.
Diallo has a very long list of schools chasing him at the moment, but said he has no clear favorite. His list includes Kentucky, Syracuse, Louisville, Arizona, Kansas, St. John’s, Pittsburgh, Florida, Iowa State and many more. He has visited Pittsburgh twice and Iowa State once so far and will take more visits down the road.
As far as making a decision, Diallo mentioned December as a very tentative possibility for when he might pick a school, but for right now he is very focused on continuing to improve his game as more summer tournaments come up for him and Team Scan.
Diallo had a chance to attend the Nike Point Guard and Big Men Skills Academy from June 23-25 at Kean University and play against some of the premier competition in the country. Playing against this level of competition is no foreign affair for Diallo of late as he was the MVP of the NBA Top 100 Camp last week and also played very well for Team Scan on the Nike EYBL Circuit.
Diallo, a 6-9 forward who recently received an offer from Kentucky, averaged 12.9 points and 9.6 rebounds per game for Team Scan and was named EYBL Defensive Player of the Year.
Attending the Nike Bigs Academy afforded Diallo the chance to learn from NBA players Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins and a very esteemed staff of coaches like John Lucas.
“I’ve learned a lot of things here [Nike Bigs Academy],” Diallo said after finishing up the final session of camp.
“We did a lot of post moves, a lot of shooting, like a lot of pick up. We also learned a lot of post spins and pick and pop.”
Diallo is currently ranked No. 7 in the Class of 2015 by ESPN
