SUWANEE, Ga.– P.J. Dozier is back and better than ever.
The 6-foot-5 point guard from Spring Valley (S.C.) has returned from surgery on his meniscus and is leading an Upward Stars team that has stormed through their first two games at the Nike Memorial Classic.
“So far, so good,” Dozier told SNY.tv. “All of the doctors say that you come back way more explosive than you were before, I definitely feel like that’s true. My goal is just to stay healthy.”
Dozier says that all of the schools that were recruiting him before are still on board and working hard to convince him to chose a school.
“It’s nice to see that they’ve stuck with me throughout the whole process,” Dozier said. “UNC, Kentucky, Kansas, South Carolina, Ohio State, Michigan, Indiana, Georgia Tech, Clemson and Louisville are all on board and showing interest.”
Dozier’s father, Perry Dozier Sr., who played basketball at South Carolina, says that there has been some pressure for P.J. to stay in state, but that it’s all about where P.J. fits best.
“It’s going to come down where he wants to go,” Dozier Sr. said. “He has to chose where he wants to go, academically and athletically.”
Dozier, ranked No. 37 in the class of 2015 by 247 Sports, currently has offers from Clemson, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Indiana, Georgetown, UConn, NC State, Ohio State, Kansas and Wichita State.
