HAMPTON, VA – While others in the 2015 class have begun to cut their lists of potential colleges, Roselle Catholic’s Isaiah Briscoe has had his mind on basketball, not recruiting.
“I just haven’t had the time, I’m busy,” Briscoe told SNY.tv. “So whenever I get the time, I will be sure to put [my list] out.”
The most recent news in the recruiting world for the New Jersey star was a visit with and offer from Louisville coach Rick Pitino at RC in late April.
“That was just great to sit down with Pitino, he’s a Hall of Fame coach, he’s great,” Briscoe said.
Briscoe is also being recruited heavily by St. John’s, UConn, Rutgers and Seton Hall, as well as Arizona and others.
When his list is decided, one of the major focus points for him is the head coach and his staff.
“Of course a coach’s resume [is important], and he has full trust in me to lead his team to the NCAA tournament, and think of me as another coach on the court,” Briscoe said about factors on choosing a college. “Most importantly, just take me to the next level, beyond college basketball.”
As for the game on the court, Briscoe and his AAU team, the Playaz Basketball Club, are on a bit of a roll. On Saturday at EYBL’s Session Three, his team picked up two wins: a 77-68 victory over Texas Elite and a 64-55 win over BABC. The point guard averaged 23 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5 assists in those two victories, including 19 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists against BABC.
“We’re playing good, on a six-game winning streak, everybody is playing well, and we just continue to play hard and win,” Briscoe said of the Playaz recent action in the EYBL.
