Seth Allen is transferring from Maryland to join new Virginia Tech head coach Buzz Williams.
Jon Rothstein of CBSSports.com was the first to report the news.
Allen averaged 13.4 points per game for the Terrapins this past season, shooting 38 percent from deep.
Allen will join Justin Bibbs, Ahmed Hill, and Jalen Hudson, creating one of the most formidable backcourts in the ACC when he becomes eligible after ‘sitting a year.’
Hill was previously committed to Marquette, and followed Williams to Virginia Tech.
“I love Buzz,” Allen told ESPN’s Jeff Goodman. “It’s as simple as that. I believe he can make me the player I need to be successful and I think he will help Virginia Tech win a lot of games.”
Allen is the fourth player to transfer from Maryland, with Shaquille Cleare heading to Texas while Roddy Peters and Nick Faust are both uncommitted.
Allen will be available to play starting in the 2015-2016 season.
