Prairie View A&M at UCLAUCLA sophomore guard Kyle Anderson and freshman guard Zach LaVine both officially declared for the NBA Draft on Wednesday.

Anderson’s plans to head to the NBA were previously reported by SNY.tv.

One veteran NBA scout told SNY.tv Anderson is “potentially” a lottery pick, while LaVine is considered “late first.”

DraftExpress.com has the 6-foot-9 Anderson at No. 17 on its Mock Draft, and the 6-5 LaVine at No. 28.

BriscoeIsaiah Briscoe, one of the top guards in the class of 2015, may wait until the spring of 2015 to sign, his father confirmed to SNY.tv.

“Yeah, there’s a possibility,” George Briscoe said Wednesday by phone, confirming comments he made to Zack Cziryak of the Seton Hall Rivals site.

“We want to see who’s leaving, who’s at those teams. It’s just not a rush.”

Briscoe’s recruitment has gone on for some time now and has had its ebbs and flows. He’s considering St. John’s, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Louisville, Providence, Arizona, Syracuse, Duke, UConn and Florida, among others.

Louisville head coach Rick Pitino is due in to watch Briscoe work out on Monday at Roselle (N.J.) Catholic, RC coach Dave Boff told SNY.tv.

Turner 2NEW YORK — Myles Turner, the lone uncommitted player in the Jordan Brand Classic, will announce his college choice April 30 on ESPNU and is a gametime decision for Friday’s Jordan game with an ankle injury, his father confirmed to SNY.tv.

“I’m not sure if I’ll play yet but hopefully I do,” the 6-foot-11 Turner said Wednesday after watching practice in sweats at Basketball City in Manhattan. “Even if I don’t play its just an honor to be a part of all this.”

Turner remains undecided on college and is targeting a decision April 30.

“I’m definitely looking to announce on TV hopefully,” Turner said. “Definitely towards the end of the month after I get back home after this, I’m going to sit down with my parents and finalize everything.”

parkerJabari Parker will not announce his future plans on Wednesday, Duke basketball associate director of sports information Matt Plizga confirmed to SNY.tv Tuesday night.

The Chicago Tribune reported the development earlier in the day.

Plizga said reporters in Oklahoma City “misconstrued [Parker’s] comments” Monday when he said he would meet this week with Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski and then decide whether or not to enter the NBA Draft.

St. John's

St. John’s coach Steve Lavin is expected to meet this week with Chris Obekpa in an encounter that could lay the groundwork for Obekpa’s return to the school, sources told SNY.tv.

The 6-foot-9 Obekpa gave St. John’s fans hope that he might stay at the school by Tweeting Sunday night, “Let’s do this @philgreene31.”

Greene is his St. John’s teammate.

Obekpa was granted a release on April 3, as first reported by SNY.tv, but it appears he has had a change of heart and desires to return to St. John’s.

Lavin has been busy recruiting in Chicago and California but would be willing to meet with Obekpa, sources said.

BattleAdd Kansas to the list of high-major programs who will be recruiting 2016 Gill St. Bernard’s guard Tyus Battle.

Kansas assistant Norm Roberts called Gary Battle, the player’s father, and told him he would be watching Tyus later this month and this summer.

“He told me he’s gonna be really looking forward to seeing him over the summer,” Gary said.

Battle is running this summer with Team Scan on the Nike EYBL circuit, alongside 2015 forwards Cheick Diallo and Thomas Bryant.
