Providence Transfer Brice Kofane to Monmouth

Former Providence big man Brice Kofane is headed to Monmouth and will be eligible immediately.

The 6-foot-8, 210-pound native of Cameroon announced the move on Twitter.

“It was the right fit as far as what I want to get out of my fifth year,” he told SNY.tv by text. “It’s a great staff and the team is a great group of young guys. I will play immediately. I’m an older guy and just looking forward to working with Coach [King] Rice and together we will figure how I can help the team.”

He averaged 1.0 point in 4.4 minutes last season for the Big East Tournament champion Friars.

According to Josh Newman of the Asbury Park Press, Monmouth has one scholarship remaining.
