    Josh SharmaNEW HAVEN, Conn. — Illinois was two deep on Wednesday for Josh Sharma, a 7-foot junior from Northfield Mount Hermon.

    Illini head coach John Groce and assistant Dustin Ford watched Sharma, who managed just 2 points as NMH was crushed by Brewster (N.H.) Academy, 84-61, in the semifinals of the National Prep Championships at Albertus Magnus College.

    Creighton assistant Pat Sellers was also among those in the stands.

    “Definitely could’ve played harder, definitely missed some opportunities for a rebound here or there,” Sharma told SNY.tv. “It was not a good performance from us overall.”

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Chris McCullough hopes Tyler Ennis will return to Syracuse next year to be his point guard.

    And the 6-foot-10 McCullough thinks it will happen, too.

    “I’m pretty sure, I think he’s staying,” McCullough told SNY.tv after putting up 8 points as IMG Academy lost to St. Thomas More, 93-86, in the National Prep Championship semifinals on Wednesday at Albertus Magnus College.

    “I talked to him last week and he said he’s still thinking about it. He didn’t make a decision yet. But hopefully he stays.”

    Dusan Ristic, a 7-foot, 240-pound center originally from Novi Sad, Serbia, will announce his college choice on Saturday afternoon before his team’s game with Prime Prep, Sunrise Christian (KS) coach Kyle Lindsted told SNY.tv.

    Ristic visited Arizona this past weekend and Lindsted previously told SNY.tv, “He’s Arizona’s to lose.”

    Lindsted said Ristic came to the U.S. from Serbia to play with countryman Vasilije Pusica, a 6-4 combo guard from Belgrade, who is Ristic’s close friend.

    Ristic played with Red Star Belgrade’s youth team and is projected as the No. 26 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft by Draft Express.com.

    Bruce Springsteen will headline the NCAA March Madness Music Festival next month in Dallas.

    Springsteen and the E Street Band will close the free, three-day festival on April 6 at Reunion Park, the downtown lot where the NCAA Final Four was played in 1986.

    Myles Turner, Luke Kennard and Chase Jeter are among the big names who will visit Duke this weekend for the North Carolina game on Saturday.

    The 6-foot-11 Turner is the top uncommitted player in the Class of 2014 and will trip to Kansas Wednesday and then Duke on the weekend. He has already visited Ohio State and Oklahoma State officially, and Texas A&M and SMU unofficially.

    His father, David Turner, told SNY.tv his son still plans to visit Texas and may also visit Kentucky.

    BarkelyCharles Barkley says he has a solution for tanking in the NBA.

    Don’t reward teams who tank.

    Give every team in the lottery one ping pong ball, instead of rewarding teams based on who has the worst record.

    “My suggestion — the NBA is too stupid to listen to me — I said just give teams one ball,” Barkley said Tuesday on ESPN’s Mike & Mike Show. “Don’t give teams extra ping polls by the more they lose. I think only twice in the 20 years has the team with the worst record and the most balls got the No. 1 pick. Only twice in like 25 years [it’s actually four times in the last 29 years]. So don’t give teams extra balls because they’re losing games. Just give every team in the lottery one ball. That would be the easiest way to handle it.”
