Pitino to Watch Briscoe This Month (UPDATED)

Louisville coach Rick Pitino will watch 2015 guard Isaiah Briscoe Jan. 28, Roselle (N.J.) Catholic coach Dave Boff told SNY.tv..

“They reached out to my father and said that he’s been watching me since freshman year” Briscoe said of Pitino.

After transferring from St. Benedict’s Prep, Briscoe has to sit a state-mandated 30 days and is eligible to suit up Jan. 20 against Miller Grove (Ga.) in Ohio.

His first game in New Jersey will then be Jan. 23 at Elizabeth.

“I like Louisville,” Briscoe said. “Great coach, Hall of Fame coach, of course.”

“Coach Pitino is obviously an all-time great coach and I think does a good job developing players, especially guards,” Boff said.

As for what Briscoe will bring to the team, Boff said:

“Isaiah coming back will really add to our team in all areas. He can handle, shoot it and really makes his teammates better. That’s the part of his game that has really impressed me.”

Briscoe said Gonzaga, Oklahoma State, Syracuse, Arizona, Florida, Seton Hall and Rutgers had also been in touch. Kentucky and Duke have also recently expressed interest in the 6-foot-3 Briscoe.
