Chase Jeter and his 2015 teammate Stephen Zimmerman will be on national TV Friday night when Bishop Gorman (Nev.) meets Carlton Bragg and St. Joseph’s (Ohio) in the Cancer Research Classic in Wheeling, W.V.
The game is slated for 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
“It’s a great opportunity for my teammates and I,” the 6-foot-10 Jeter told SNY.tv. “We are all competitors so we are ready for a chance to compete on a national scale and to prove ourselves.”
Jeter and the 7-foot Zimmerman recently visited Oregon while out there for the Les Schwab Invitational.
“The Oregon visit went great and I liked their style of play along with the great facilities,” Jeter said.
Jeter recently added a UConn offer to offers from Louisville, Duke, North Carolina, Gonzaga and many others. UConn head man Kevin Ollie has been hot on Jeter’s trail as of late.
“They offered a few weeks ago,” Jeter said. “I honestly am not very familiar with their program other than the players who have come out of their program, such as Kemba Walker and Andre Drummond.”
Jeter is also being recruited by UCLA, Arizona, UNLV, Kansas, Cal, USC, and Michigan.
It should be an interesting matchup with Jeter and Zimmerman, who was recently visited by Kentucky coach John Calipari, going against the 6-8 Bragg. Bragg, another 2015 big man, was recently offered by Arizona and is being courted by Kentucky, Ohio State, Illinois and West Virginia, among others.
“I’ve played against him in the AAU circuit and at a few camps,” Jeter said of Bragg. “I just treat it like any other game, but like I said I’m a competitor so I do look forward to games like this.”
