Decision Day for Looney, Booker & Blackmon

In the span of less than 12 hours today, three players in the Top 30 of the Rivals150 for the Class of 2014 will announce their college decisions.

Here’s a quick primer on what’s ahead on this busy and exciting recruiting day.

Kevon Looney (Rivals No. 13) — 12 p.m. (EST)

The Milwaukee power forward will announce at noon at Alexander Hamilton High School and has a current list of Duke, Tennessee, Florida, Michigan State, UCLA and Wisconsin.

Duke is considered the favorite, but the 6-foot-8 Looney has kept his cards very close to the vest during the recruiting process.

Wherever he goes, Looney figures to be an impact player.

“I’ll bring a versatile player,” Looney told SNY.tv earlier this month. “I think I can score the ball. I’ve become a much better shooter. I’m getting stronger. I can defend multiple positions. And I’m a great rebounder.”

Devin Booker (Rivals No. 30) – 4 p.m.

The 6-5 shooting guard is set to tell everyone where he’s headed at 4 p.m. at Moss Point (MS) High School.

He is considering Kentucky, Missouri, Michigan and Michigan State and has taken officials to all four.

Booker also visited Missouri again this past weekend, where his father, former Mizzou legend Melvin Booker, was honored at an exhibition game with his 1994 Big 8 title team.

One source told SNY.tv Thursday that it was “50/50” between Kentucky and Missouri.

In this SNY.tv video, Booker broke down his schools.

James Blackmon Jr. (Rivals No. 23) — roughly 9 p.m.

The 6-5 Blackmon Jr. will make his college commitment live during Thursday’s ESPNU halftime show of the Louisiana-Monroe at Troy (7:30 p.m.) football game.

He is deciding between Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State and Kansas, but one source told SNY.tv Thursday that Kentucky is a “lock.”

He went to Kentucky earlier this month for “Big Blue Madness” where he was joined by Stanley Johnson, Trey Lyles and Kentucky pledges Tyler Ulis and Karl Towns Jr.

The onetime Indiana pledge visited the Big Ten school for an official last weekend and previously told SNY.tv he would consider going back there if he felt it was the right fit.

“A lot of people think just because I decommitted from [Indiana], I’m not looking at them,” he told SNY.tv recently. “But they’re still one of my top five and if it’s the right fit for me I’ll definitely go back because I love that place. I’m from Indiana so that’s always a plus.”
