Myles Turner Enjoys Ohio State; Louisville Is Out

Myles Turner took his first official visit to Ohio State this past weekend and it went well.

“Myles told me it went really well,” David Turner, Myles’ father, told SNY.tv. “His mom and Myles went. He enjoyed it. Ohio State showed  him a great time.”

David said head coach Thad Matta talked to the 6-foot-11 Trinity (TX) Euless big man about how he would be used.

“Coach does have specific ideas about how they would use him and he explained that to Myles in pretty good detail,” David said. “He wasn’t going to just stick Myles in the post and leave him there.”

Turner is now listing Ohio State, Kansas, Duke, Kentucky, Arizona, Texas and Oklahoma State, with Louisville no longer recruiting him.

Louisville already has pledges from center Chinanu Onuaku and power forward Jaylen Johnson, and they are in the final two for 6-10 forward Trey Lyles, who is also considering Kentucky.

“Louisville stopped calling and recruiting,” David said.  “They stopped talking to us. We never took them of the list. We just would have loved the opportunity to hear what Coach [Rick] Pitino has planned for Myles but I guess that won’t happen.”

David said Myles will head to Houston this coming weekend to train with John Lucas.

They plan to sit down this week and decide what visit comes next.

“We are going to sit down on Wednesday when I’m off and try to plan our next visit,” he said.

Turner has previously said he plans to sign late.
