    The state of Florida just added another talented player to its prep resume.

    Lamonte’ Turner announced on Wednesday that he will be transferring to Arlington Country Day, joining Florida commit Brandone Francis and Dante Buford in Jacksonville.

    “I really wanted to play a national schedule,” Turner told SNY.tv on Wednesday afternoon. “I also looked at St. Benedict’s, as well as Huntington Prep, but felt that Arlington Country Day was the best choice for me.”

    Articles, Seton Hall

    Khadeen Carrington has kept his recruitment on the down low for much of the summer.

    But the 6-foot-3 Bishop Loughlin combo guard ended the suspense Wednesday night when he committed to Seton Hall, becoming the second player from the New York Lightning AAU program to pledge to the Pirates in the last month.

    Angel Delgado, a 6-9 rebounding machine who is Carrington’s AAU teammate, picked Seton Hall in mid-August.

    “They got Angel so I thought it was a good place for me to go,” Carrington told SNY.tv by phone. “I played with him already so I already know him.”

    He said he also considered Cincinnati, Providence and Texas A&M, among others.

    Recruiting

    Tyler Ulis will announce his college choice Friday night and is expected to pick Kentucky over Michigan State and Iowa.

    “Tyler and I had a good conversation last night on the drive home,” James Ulis recently told the Herald-Leader. “We’re going to talk again later today or early tomorrow. I know it’s coming. … I think he’s ready for it to be over.”

    Kentucky shifted into overdrive on the 5-foot-9 Ulis out of Chicago Marian Heights after losing Emmanuel Mudiay to SMU and amidst concerns that Tyus Jones could land elsewhere. (Kentucky coach John Calipari was slated to have an in-home visit with Jones on Tuesday.)

    “We talked about Kentucky being a place where the expectations are high,” James Ulis said. “You’re expected to win and you’ve got a fan base like no other.”

    Ulis is also considering both Iowa and Michigan State and James Ulis said it would be tough to decide.

    Articles, USC

    JORDANMCLAUGHLIN_NIKE_-COPY

    Jordan McLaughlin has committed to play his college basketball at the University of Southern California.

    The 18th ranked player in the country by ESPN, McLaughlin recently took a visit last week to USC and not long after, he announced that he would be making his college decision on Wednesday afternoon.

    Last week, McLaughlin’s AAU coach, Cameron Murray spoke to SNY.tv about Jordan’s view on Southern California.

    Lincoln High School, Recruiting

    Isaiah Whitehead has done a great job of keeping his recruiting cards close to the vest, and today two more schools will make their pitch to the 2014 Brooklyn Lincoln shooting guard.

    Minnesota head coach Richard Pitino and assistant Kimani Young will visit with Whitehead in Brooklyn, as will Pittsburgh head coach Jamie Dixon and assistant Barry “Slice” Rohrssen.

    Minnesota is in the midst of a huge week in which they saw Findlay Prep guard Rashad Vaughn, a Minnesota native, work out Monday, and also had a home visit with Minnesota point guard Tyus Jones Tuesday.

    Recruiting

    Quentin Snider remains undecided on his college destination and still plans to take two more visits, his father told SNY.tv Wednesday morning.

    “Q doesn’t know what he’s doing yet,” Scott Snider said. “UCLA came in the home [Tuesday] night and the visit was good. Illinois came in the night before and that visit was also good.”

    As of now, the Louisville decommit out of Ballard (Ky.) High is still planning on visiting Michigan State this weekend and UConn the following weekend.

    Lamonte Bearden, a 6-foot-3, 165-pound point guard from Germantown (WI) High, pledged to Buffalo and coach Bobby Hurley Tuesday night.

    “I love their program and most of all, the coaches,” he told SNY.tv. “I’ll be able to create plays off the ball screen with Bob Hurley coaching me.”

    A long, athletic player with a huge upside, Bearden led Germantown to a 28-0 record and the state title last season. He visited Buffalo this past weekend and ultimately chose them over Oregon State and Green Bay, he told SNY.tv. Minnesota, Creighton, Butler, Purdue and Iowa State all expressed interest.

    Just a week ago, Hurley’s club secured a pledge from Mory Diane, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound 2014 shooting guard from Detroit Pershing High.

    Now they have their backcourt of the future set with this latest pledge.
