Whitehead Enjoyed Seton Hall, St. John’s Next (UPDATED)

Isaiah Whitehead enjoyed his unofficial visit to Seton Hall on Saturday and told SNY.tv that Kevin Willard and his staff told him he could be the face of the program if he were to commit.

“[I] liked everything about it,” the 6-foot-4 Whitehead told SNY.tv. “It’s a great school. I don’t see why people don’t go there.”

Seton Hall has three commits for 2014 in forwards Angel Delgado and Ismael Sanogo and guard Khadeen Carrington.

Whitehead seems impressed with those commits. He Tweeted congratulations to Carrington when he committed and sources said he also likes Quadri Moore, who is expected to announce in the coming days for either Seton Hall or Cincinnati.

Having now visited Indiana and Seton Hall unofficially, Whitehead will now visit St. John’s Wednesday, sources confirmed to SNY.tv.

As he has with other recruits, St. John’s coach Steve Lavin is likely to pitch the advantages of playing in New York City, in Madison Square Garden and in the Big East Conference.

Minnesota and Pittsburgh would also both like to get Whitehead on a visit, but he said he’s not certain where he will go after St. John’s.

“I don’t know yet,” he said.
