Syracuse Latest to Offer Chris Silva

Thursday was quite a day for the folks at Roselle (N.J.) Catholic.

First, they received the news that Tyler Roberson had been cleared to play this season at Syracuse, as we reported here.

And they also learned that 6-foot-9 2015 power forward Chris Silva had picked up an offer from Syracuse. Associate head coach Mike Hopkins is expected to watch Silva in person at RC on Sept. 15.

Of course, Syracuse is also recruiting 2015 RC guard Isaiah Briscoe.

“Chris Silva’s potential is unlimited,” RC assistant Tom Sacks told SNY.tv. “He might be the most athletic 6-9 underclass player in the country. Chris’s work ethic will give him the opportunity to play big-time college basketball and eventually an NBA player.

“Chris has only played basketball for four years now. I have personally trained Chris for one year now and his progress is unmatched. He’s a great person and the more understanding of the game that Chris receives, the sky’s the limit.”

Silva holds also offers from Seton Hall and Villanova, with interest from Cincinnati, Florida, Ohio State, Georgetown, St. Joe’s and Creighton.

Silva, Briscoe and the RC team will be on display in the Flyin’ to the Hoop event in Dayton, Ohio in Jan. against Columbus (Ohio) Northland. Click here for the full schedule.
