Craig Victor, a 6-foot-8 power forward from New Orleans Elite and Findlay Prep, will announce his college choice Saturday.
Victor is down to Arizona, LSU, Oklahoma State and Louisville, with most experts expecting him to land at either Arizona or LSU.
“As of [Tuesday] night I think he had [decided],” New Orleans Elite coach Greg Holmes told SNY.tv Wednesday. “He’s 90-95 percent sure. He asked me my opinion on what I think on his finalists and I told him what I think on each school. I think that’s why he called me.
“He’s definitely sure he’s going to announce it on Saturday. He’s going to announce it at a banquet in front of all his friends.”
Wherever Victor lands, Holmes believes they will be getting a special player.
“He definitely will bring a great work ethic to whatever program he attends,” Holmes said. “He’s going to fight and challenge whatever the competition is, and make his college teammates better. He’s going to give his all.”
As for his upside, Holmes said: “He’s probably more of a mismatch at the four spot. He can take big guys outside and smaller guys he can take in the post. He’s goign to work real hard and he can pass the ball real well, too. He wasn’t selfish enough sometimes during the summer, but at the end of the day he made his teammates look better on our team.”
