ORLANDO, Fla.- Tyus Jones was the guy everyone was there to see, and he didn’t disappoint.

The 6-foot-1, 171-pound point guard led Howard Pulley to a 64-61 win over Bonzie Colson and BABC on Wednesday night in the 17U Gold Super Showcase at the Wide World of Sports.

Ranked No. 2 in the country in the Class of 2014 by Rivals.com, and No. 3 by ESPN, Jones took the floor in front of Duke assistant Nate James, Minnesota head coach Richard Pitino, Kansas coach Bill Self, Michigan State coach Tom Izzo and assistants from Ohio State, UCLA and Baylor.

Carmelo Anthony was confronted by TMZ so take it for what it’s worth.

That said, Anthony was asked straight up if he could see himself wearing purple and gold in the future. Anthony can opt out of his deal with the Knicks in 2014 and is reportedly being targeted by the Lakers.

“Ummmmm, I doubt it,” he said in the above video.

Anthony and LeBron James can both become free agents next summer, and Anthony was asked if he and King James talked about playing together — in L.A.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Playing in front of a crowd that included over 50 college coaches, most notably Tom Izzo of Michigan State, Bill Self of Kansas and Duke assistant Nate James, Justise Winslow helped Houston Hoops to a blowout win over Atlanta Xpress, 89-56, in the 17U Gold Super Showcase on Wednesday evening.

As first reported last week by SNY.tv, the 6-foot-6 Winslow received an offer from Kentucky after Peach Jam. After Wednesday’s win, he spoke with SNY.tv about the Kentucky offer.

“For me it would mean the same as playing for any other coach,” Winslow said. “Whatever coach I end up playing for is going to be a person that I will look up to for guidance. [Kentucky coach John Calipari] is a good coach, but there are a lot of other good coaches out there.”

Keeping in mind that most package discussions don’t end up actually happening, Texas players Myles Turner and Emmanuel Mudiay are talking about teaming up.

The 6-foot-5 Mudiay is the No. 3 player in the Rival150 for 2014, and the 6-11 Turner is the No. 6 player. Needless to say, the addition of the talented point guard and the imposing big man would represent quite a recruiting coup.

The news was first reported by Jason Jordan of USA Today, and confirmed to SNY.tv by David Turner, Myles’s father.

“Myles and Emmanuel have talked about it,” David told SNY.tv from Las Vegas where his son will match up against both Jahlil Okafor and Cliff Alexander Wednesday night.

Josh Perkins has cut his list to five schools, his father told SNY.tv Wednesday.

“The five are UCLA, Minnesota, Gonzaga, UConn and Kentucky,” Randy Perkins said by phone from Las Vegas where his son is playing in the Fab 48 event this week.

The elder Perkins said they did not make the cut public because they didn’t want to draw a lot of attention to the list. USC, Baylor and Kansas had previously been considered.

The 6-foot-2 point guard will announce his college choice Aug. 25 once he is enrolled at Huntington (W.V.) Prep.
