Malachi Richardson Adding Offers

ORLANDO, Fla.Malachi Richardson was one of the most impressive players at the Wide World of Sports on Wednesday evening.

The smooth 6-foot-6 shooting guard out of Roselle (N.J.) Catholic showed off his sweet stroke from deep, leading Team Final to a 77-44 win over the Tennessee Panthers. He also consistently showed that he is currently one of the most polished players not only in the class of 2015, but in the country.

Ranked No. 11 in the class of 2015 by ESPN, Richardson has been adding offers continuously over the past month, and spoke with SNY.tv about a couple in particular that he is excited about.

“Coach [Kevin] Ollie is a great coach, he has a great staff. UConn is a great school, and he has been making all of those guys better,” Richardson said. “Shabazz Napier is really going, he has been getting a lot better. I always have liked Syracuse growing up as well as Arizona and Indiana also.”

Indiana is also in the mix and Richardson will visit in August.

“It’s a great program, great school, great coaching staff,” he said at the Peach Jam. “They said I’m a major priority.”

Richardson saw what Victor Oladipo did at the shooting guard position last year.

“It shows they can produce NBA players,” he said. “Coach [Tom] Crean is a great coach, great teacher.”

He also holds offers from Arizona, Ohio State, SMU, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Miami, Syracuse, Minnesota, Georgetown, Florida and James Madison, but he plans to cut down the list soon.

“I might cut my list down by the end of September, or before the high school season starts,” Richardson said.
