Phil Booth Cuts to Five

Team Takeover shooting guard Phil Booth has cut his list to five.

The 6-foot-3 Baltimore Mount St. Joseph guard is now considering Georgetown, Indiana, Villanova, Virginia and Temple.

Booth briefly broke down the five schools for SNY.tv:

“Indiana – Great tradition, good relationship with coaching staff.” (Former Takeover coach Kenny Johnson is an assistant at IU.)

“Villanova – Love the way Jay Wright helps produce guards, like the coaching staff.

“UVA – Coach [Tony] Bennett played in the league. Like his system. Like where they are building to.

“Georgetown – Love the tradition, long-term looks good with degree.

“Temple – Love coaching staff and style of play.”

Booth plans to decide in the fall.

He will play this week at the Nike Global Challenge in Washington, D.C., with the USA East team that includes Syracuse commit Chris McCullough, Isaiah Briscoe, Ja’Quan Newton, Angel Delgado, Terry Larrier and others.

Booth is the No. 78 prospect in the Class of 2014 according to Rivals.
