Kyle Wiltjer, a 6-foot-10 rising junior forward, is considering leaving Kentucky, he announced Monday.

“Even though I might physically leave Lexington, I will never forget the support and kindness that everyone has shown my family and me,” he wrote in this letter. “It is difficult to put into words how hard it is to possibly leave BBN, yet I am confident that whatever I choose, I will give it my all. Regardless, I will always bleed blue and will never forget these amazing last two years at Kentucky.”

Kentucky coach John Calipari seemed to indicate there was a chance Wiltjer could return when he Tweeted: “Whatever Kyle chooses – and I still hope he ends up back with us – I wish him and his family the best of luck.”

Shaq ScottIona has added another athletic piece to its roster with the addition of Shack Scott, a 6-foot-7, 205-pound wing from The Robinson School in N.J.

“I just committed to Iona,” the Paterson, N.J., native told SNY.tv, adding that he also considered Marshall and LIU.

“I just got my scores back from the ACT and I’m eligible,” he added.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Jahlil Okafor has already won gold medals with USA Basketball at the U16 and U17 levels.

This week he will jump up two age groups when he debuts with the U19 team at the FIBA World Championship in Prague, Czech Republic.

The 6-foot-10 Okafor and his teammates will debut Thursday against the Ivory Coast.

“We’ve only won the gold medal twice for the 19U [since 1991],” Okafor, who turned 17 in December, said Thursday after a practice at the Verizon Center.

“I won the gold medal for 16s and 17s so I’m undefeated and I plan on doing the same thing.”

Hakim Saintil has finally made a college choice.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Roselle (N.J.) Catholic point guard will commit to South Alabama Sunday afternoon, he told SNY.tv.

“I felt comfortable over there,” he said. “They are like a family and with the new direction of the program it was hard for me not to go there.”

By averaging 14.5 points, 5.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds, Saintil helped Roselle Catholic win the New Jersey Tournament of Champions title, alongside Syracuse-bound forward Tyler Roberson and highly recruited 2015 wing Malachi Richardson.
