Kevin Johnson Leaving Seton Hall (UPDATED)

Seton Hall freshman big man Kevin Johnson will transfer, a source close to the situation confirmed to SNY.tv.

Johnson could wind up at Cal State-Northridge or San Diego State, sources said.

Johnson was recruited by former Seton Hall assistant Chris Pompey, who is reportedly an option to join Reggie Theus’ staff at Northridge.

Johnson initially picked Seton Hall over San Diego State.

The transfer news was previously reported by PirateCrew.com and SouthOrangeJuice.com.

The 6-foot-9, 240-pound Johnson is a Compton, Calif., native who averaged just 2.5 points and 2.0 rebounds last season.

He was seen displaying poor body language on the bench toward the end of the season and looked especially disinterested during the Big East Tournament, after he was moved behind Aaron Geramipoor on the depth chart.

Seton Hall returns Geramipoor and fellow bigs Patrik Auda, Gene Teague and Brandon Mobley, but recently lost out on SMU transfer Blaise Mbargorba, who elected to transfer to Boston University.
