    FRISCO, Texas — Stanley Johnson, the No. 12 player in the Rivals 150 for the Class of 2014, is considering adding another big-time program to his list.

    “One school that just offered me is Kansas,” the 6-foot-6 small forward from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei told SNY.tv at the Nike EYBL stop here.

    “I’m talking with them a little bit. I got a little bit of interest in them.”

    Johnson’s current list consists of seven schools — Arizona, Kentucky, Florida, Oregon, Duke, UCLA and USC

    As if there wasn’t already enough negative attention surrounding Knicks shooting guard J.R. Smith, now comes this.

    The Sixth Man of the Year is being listed as questionable for tonight’s Game 3 against the Indiana Pacers with what the team is calling an illness. Head coach Mike Woodson said Saturday morning after shootaround at Bankers Life Fieldhouse that Smith, who stayed back at the team hotel instead of attending shootaround, had a 102-degree fever.

    Woodson went on to say that even if Smith does play this evening in the pivotal Game 3 of a series that is tied, 1-1, that he’s not expecting much.

    Meanwhile, Carmelo Anthony seemed all but sure Smith would go despite the illness.

    Five days after telling SNY.tv “I can see myself at UConn,” Daniel Hamilton made it a reality.

    After a game at the Nike EYBL stop in Frisco, Texas, the 6-foot-6 junior wing out of Los Angeles St. John Bosco verbally committed to head coach Kevin Ollie and the Huskies.

    The 6-foot-6 Hamilton is the younger brother of Jordan Hamilton, who plays for the Denver Nuggets, and Isaac Hamilton, who plays at UTEP. Many schools stopped recruiting Daniel after Isaac committed to UTEP, but Ollie never gave up.

    “He recruited me and Isaac at Crenshaw,” Daniel Hamilton told ESPN.com. “When Isaac committed he never stopped. A lot of the coaches that recruited Isaac stopped recruiting me.

    If the Eddie Jordan graduation scandal proves anything, it is this.

    Really, how much more embarrassment can one University take?

    Especially one that is poised to enter the Big Ten in 2014?

    Already the jokes are starting to bubble up in the wake of the Deadspin report that Jordan never actually graduated from Rutgers.

    Newly appointed men’s basketball coach Eddie Jordan did not graduate from Rutgers University, according to Josh Koblin of Deadspin.

    According to an ad Rutgers posted to hire an assistant coach, a Bachelor’s Degree is required for that position. However, Jordan doesn’t necessarily need a Bachelor’s Degree to be the head coach at Rutgers.

    “Hiring decisions, including coaches’ qualifications, are made by the school,” an NCAA spokesman told SNY.tv.

    Syracuse, Villanova

    Villanova and Syracuse have announced a home-and-home men’s basketball series that will feature a game in Philadelphia and a contest in the Carrier Dome over the next two seasons.

    Syracuse will play Villanova in the Carrier Dome on December 28, 2013. The Wildcats will host the Orange at the Wells Fargo Center the following year.

    “We are excited to announce the continuation of the Villanova-Syracuse rivalry,” said Villanova AD Vince Nicastro. “Our annual games against Syracuse were an integral part of our basketball schedule over the past 30 plus years, and included some of the greatest college basketball experiences in the nation.  We are thrilled to be able to continue that for the next two years.”
