Rashad Vaughn Planning Iowa State, Kansas Visits

Robbinsdale (MN) Cooper shooting guard Rashad Vaughn, one of the top 2014 prospects, will take an unofficial visit to Iowa State Feb. 2 for the Baylor game, his assistant coach, Pete Kaffey, told SNY.tv.

“He’s going to make that visit,” Kaffey said.

Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg was recently on hand to watch Vaughn.

The 6-foot-5 Vaughn will also visit Kansas sometime soon.

“He will visit Kansas, too,” he said. “We are just going to go to places that are around Minnesota. Less driving distance, so his dad and his family can come, too.”

Kaffey said other schools showing a lot of interest are Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, Florida, Minnesota, Texas, Maryland, Baylor, Tennessee and Georgetown.

“Those schools are always calling his dad and myself,” Kaffey said. “Those schools have been coming hard.”

In a recent loss to Tyus Jones and Apple Valley, Vaughn had 35 points with Hoiberg, Minnesota coach Tubby Smith and North Carolina coach Roy Williams all watching.
