Indiana Offers 2015 Wing Malachi Richardson

Indiana coach Tom Crean on Wednesday became the latest to offer Malachi Richardson, a 6-foot-6, 195-pound wing from Roselle (N.J.) Catholic.

“It was great to be offered by the No. 1 school in the country,” Richardson told SNY.tv, adding that Crean was there with assistant Kenny Johnson.

“The were just super impressed with not only where his game is at right now but his body,” RC coach Dave Boff added. “He’s just really strong. Long arms, strong, a little bit more athletic than they had remembered him. He’s really working hard on his body.”

He added: “He’s big, strong and athletic. He shoots it. His pullup jumper is quick. He creates space. They’re very happy with all those types of things.”

Richardson also holds offers from Cincinnati, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Miami and James Madison.

Boff said North Carolina, Florida and Syracuse are expected in soon to watch Richardson and could offer.

Syracuse associate head coach Mike Hopkins will be in on Sunday to watch both Richardson and Syracuse signee Tyler Roberson, a 6-foot-8 small forward.

Roselle Catholc opens its season Dec. 14 against St. Joe’s-bound wing DeAndre Bembry and The Patrick School and then plays uncommitted Jermaine Lawrence and Pope John Dec. 16 in the Hoop Group Tip-Off Classic.
