Knicks Hoping J-Kidd Returns for Road Trip

http://www.inflexwetrust.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/IFWT-Jason-Kidd1.pngNEW YORK — The Knicks hope shooting guard Jason Kidd will return for their upcoming three-game road trip beginning Wednesday in Charlotte.

“Well, he’s back out on the floor shooting a little bit, but when his return is expected, I don’t know at this point still,” Knicks coach Mike Woodson said before the team’s game against Phoenix Sunday.

Kidd has missed three games with back spasms but said Friday he was targeting this week for his return.

The Knicks play at Charlotte Wednesday before visiting LeBron James and the Miami Heat Thursday and the Chicago Bulls Saturday.

Woodson said Kidd wouldn’t necessarily need a practice before returning to action.

“No, he’s been doing it too long,” Woodson said. “He’s a little bit different than most players, but he might practice one day, I don’t know at this point. We’ll just have to wait and see.”

When he does return, Woodson said they may have to “monitor his minutes big-time.”

Kidd has been an important piece for the first-place Knicks, averaging 8.0 points, 3.4 assists and 3.3 rebounds while serving as a coach on the floor.
