Tom Crean Says Jordan Hulls is an NBA Guard

BROOKLYN –Jordan Hulls is generously listed at 6-feet, but if you ask Indiana coach Tom Crean, Hulls can play in the NBA.

After Hulls put up 14 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in No. 1 Indiana’s 66-53 victory over Georgia here in the Legends Classic before nearly 50 NBA scouts, Crean was singing Hulls’ praises.

“With the number of NBA people here, Jordan Hulls is an NBA guard,” Crean said.

He compared Hulls to a former guard of his at Marquette, Travis Diener, and even made comparisons to Steve Nash at Santa Clara.

“His facial expressions, his body language, they don’t change and I look forward to him having a big year,” Crean said of Hulls, who made 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.

After Indiana trailed 30-29 at the break, Hulls took over in the second half on a night when Cody Zeller managed just six points and four rebounds.

Hulls accounted for 15 consecutive Indiana points with either baskets of his own or by  finding slashers Victor Oladipo and Christian Watford for easy buckets.

“He is a very good player, he never sped up, he understands the game,” Georgia coach Mark Fox said. “Hulls has an old man’s game, he can pivot away from pressure. He’s a great piece with Zeller.”
