Coming off an official visit to Indiana last weekend, DeMatha Catholic big man Beejay Anya will take an official to N.C. State beginning Friday.

Anya previously told SNY.tv that he has a few connections to the Wolfpack.

Anya said N.C. State commits Anthony “Cat” Barber and Kyle Washington have been in his ear.

“They were both on my [Nike] Global Challenge team,” Anya said of the Wolfpack’s newest commits.

South Kent (Conn.) wing Kamall Richards will visit his second straight Atlantic 10 Conference school this weekend when he heads to St. Joe’s.

The 6-foot-6 Richards, who spent last year at St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark, visited Xavier this past weekend.

“He did like it,” South Kent coach Kelvin Jefferson told SNY.tv. “He came back and enjoyed the visit and enjoyed the coaches. It was a real positive experience for him.”

Seton Hall and South Carolina are two new schools to show interest. Associate head coaches Shaheen Holloway and Brad Underwood were both in recently to see Richards. Seton Hall has offered, but South Carolina has not yet, Jefferson said.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Here’s a brief comparison of Jeremy Lin’s night with that of the Knicks point guard trio of Ray Felton, Jason Kidd and Pablo Prigioni that should make Knicks fans feel really good this morning.

Felton, Kidd and Prigioni combined for 23 points, 19 assists and 5 turnovers in the Knicks’ 97-95 OT win over the Nets on Long Island.

Prigioni dished 11 assists to 4 turns, Felton had 5 assists and 1 turn and Kidd handed out 3 assists with 1 turn.

Lin?

He had 2 points, 6 turnovers, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals in Houston’s 97-90 win over the Hornets.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. — The Knicks won their first matchup against their New York City rivals, but they suffered yet another injury to a frontcourt player.

Center Tyson Chandler banged knees with Nets forward Gerald Wallace 44 seconds into the action and left the game in the first quarter of the Knicks’ 97-95 overtime victory over the Brooklyn Nets at the Nassau Coliseum.

Asked his level of concern after the game, Chandler said, “Not much. I just feel like I have a sprain.”

UCLA freshman wing Shabazz Muhammad injured his right (non-shooting) shoulder Wednesday at practice and will get an MRI this evening, UCLA head coach Ben Howland confirmed to SNY.tv

“It wasn’t anything out of the ordinary,” Howland said by phone. “He got hit. He was going up and Jordan Adams whacked the ball coming down and hit his arm.

“Sometimes you could have a shoulder injury and you could have your arm pulled back. It wasn’t anything like that. It’s his right shoulder, not his shooting shoulder.”

Howland said Muhammad was slated to have an MRI at 6:30 PCT Wednesday, and that the results would come back to UCLA Thursday.

Roselle Catholic forward Tyler Roberson has two visits two go and is nearing the end of his recruiting process.

The 6-foot-8 Roberson visited Kansas this past weekend and heads to Villanova this coming weekend and then Kentucky the weekend of Nov. 2.

“Tyler enjoyed his visit to Kansas and they remain an option for him moving forward,” RC coach Dave Boff told SNY.tv. “He is looking forward to his trips to Villanova and Kentucky each of the next two weekends.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — David Cox remembers first seeing Wally Judge play basketball when the young man was 13 or 14.

At first he didn’t understand all the hype and the comparisons to fellow Prince George’s County (Md.) natives Kevin Durant and Michael Beasley.

“Me seeing him early, to be honest with you, I couldn’t see it at the time,” Cox, the former DC Assault coach and current associate head coach at Rutgers, told SNY.tv Wednesday at Rutgers Media Day.

“By the end of his ninth grade year [at Bladensburg High School in Washington, D.C.] he started to fill out just a little bit. His  coordination started to catch up with his size and  his athleticism, you could start to see the spark.”
