Reggie Cameron, a 6-foot-7 small forward from Hudson (N.J.) Catholic, is off the board.

“I’ve committed to Georgetown,” he told SNY.tv Wednesday. “I loved the campus and the area of D.C. it’s in. The coaching staff did a great job recruiting me and I could really see myself playing there and having a great career.”

Cameron pulled the trigger after an official visit to the Big East school this past weekend in which he was was hosted by former Playa Jabril Trawick.

The Rivals No. 15 small forward in the Class of 2013, Cameron also considered Seton Hall, UConn, N.C. State, North Carolina and Miami.

“Georgetown’s style of play is ideal for Reggie to excel,” Playaz coach Jimmy Salmon told SNY.tv. “Their academic reputation is second to none and the school atmosphere fits the whole person. We expect great things out of Reg. He’s been a true Playa for his entire life and like most other decisions he’s made, this is a great one.

NEWARK — Tyler Ennis is looking forward to a senior year at St. Benedict’s Prep in which he no longer has to worry about recruiting.

Having committed to Syracuse, the 6-foot-3 point guard can now focus solely on trying to win games win the Gray Bees, who figure to be among the top five high school programs in the nation once the polls come out.

“It feels good to focus on getting better and not worrying about the whole recruiting process and returning phone calls,” said Ennis, who committed to Syracuse, his dream school, Aug. 16.

Oak Hill shooting guard Sindarius Thornwell is down to two schools — N.C. State and South Carolina.

Thornwell will visit N.C. State Oct. 12 and may visit South Carolina Oct. 19, but that date has not been entrenched yet.

The South Carolina native had previously considered Ohio State and Georgia.

As for South Carolina, Thornwell told SNY.tv, “I like coach Frank [Martin]. It’s close to home. I got an opportunity to get a lot of playing time there and I like the playing style there. It’s just where I’m from, it’s just me. South Carolina is me.”

Austin Colbert, one of the top power forwards in the Class of 2013 out of Gill St. Bernard’s, will be contributing periodically to ZAGSBLOG entering his senior season. Here’s his second entry:

What’s up, everybody?

I decided to narrow my college list to Miami, Illinois, Vanderbilt and Seton Hall.

I recently came back from my first visit at Miami and I want to say that it was a great visit. I really liked it.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – After a move across the Hudson River, a brand new arena,  a complete overhaul of the team’s color scheme and an offseason spending spree, the Brooklyn Nets are finally one week away from training camp and arguably the most important season in franchise history.

The man who spent hundreds of millions of owner Mikhail Prokhorov‘s dollars this past summer, General Manager Billy King, addressed the media at the PNY Center on Tuesday morning and among all the topics covered, his feelings on his new team are quite clear.

Having visited Steve Lavin’s current program, point guard Rysheed Jordan will next head to Lavin’s former program.

The 6-foot-4 1/2, 190-pound Jordan took an official to St. John’s this past weekend and trips to UCLA this coming weekend.

“It went good,” Jamie Ross, head coach at Philly Vaux Roberts High School, told SNY.tv Tuesday. “He liked the campus. He liked the coaching staff. He got a chance to see the guys and work out a little bit. He overall liked it.”
