Tyus Jones Has No Midnight Madness Plans Yet (UPDATED)

**Tyus Jones’s father, Robert, wanted to clarify that his son has not made any decisions about where he will visit for Midnight Madness. What follows is an updated version of my story from Tuesday:

Tyus Jones, the No. 1 point guard in the Class of 2014 out of Apple Valley (Minn.), is considering taking several unofficial visits in October, but no dates are yet set, his father told SNY.tv.

“There has been no decision as far as where he would like to go as far as Midnight Madness,” Robert told SNY.tv Wednesday by phone.

Jones is interested in visiting Duke, but nothing is set on that front.

“I know Tyus is intersted in going to the Midnight Madness at Cameron,” his father said.

And a North Carolina visit could also be a part of that trip, if Jones is in the state.

“I think if he’s in that area it would probably be wise,” his dad said.

As for Kentucky, a visit could happen but, again, no date is set.

“Nothing’s definite right now,” his father said. “Duke’s not even definite.”

Jones visited Ohio State and Michigan State prior to the Peach Jam and also recently visited Baylor.

“He looked at Michigan State and Ohio State and we just went down to Baylor this past weekend on an unofficial,” Robert said. “I think he liked them. He’s had rapport with the coaches, so I think he liked them. I think he liked Baylor as well.”

Stanford was the most recent school to offer, his father said.

Jones helped the U.S. U17 team to a gold medal in the World Championships this summer in Lithuania, and then played in the Peach Jam and the Elite 24.

“It’s been a busy summer for him,” his father said.
