Larry Brown says Mike Woodson would have kept his agent had he left the Knicks and negotiated with another team.

Instead, Woodson dumped agent Joe Glass and replaced him with Terry Prince of CAA in order to negotiate his extension with Knicks owner Jim Dolan.

“Joe Glass loves Mike Woodson,” Brown, now the SMU coach, told SNY.tv by phone. “Mike loves him. The whole thing is Mike didn’t feel like Mr. Dolan would talk to him because of my relationship with him and what transpired with me and the Knicks. We had to go to court so [Woodson] didn’t fire [Glass].”

U.S. U18 Finalists Named; Harrisons Cut

The USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team Committee announced Thursday night that 14 finalists had been selected to continue competing for a USA roster spot.

And the Harrison twins — Andrew and Aaron — were not among them. The brothers, two of the elite players in the Class of 2013, were cut, along with Ryan Arcidiacono, Jabari Byrd, Robert Carter, Kris Dunn, Robert Upshaw, Troy Williams and Adam Woodbury.

Hornets Hope Okafor Mentors Anthony Davis

Hornets coach Monty Williams still won’t publicly commit to taking Anthony Davis with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft, but hopes that former UConn star Emeka Okafor can mentor Davis when he does join the league.

“It’s always good to have a guy who’s been there, done that,” Williams told ESPN’s Andy Katz at the Chicago Pre-Draft Combine. “Emeka can take some of the bruising away from Anthony. Guys are going to try to go at him right away. Any young player coming into the league is going to need veteran leadership. Coaches can help with that but no one’s better than having a guy who’s been there, done that.”

Nets Looking to Add First-Round Pick

Nets head coach Avery Johnson says the team is looking to add a first-round pick in the NBA Draft.

They currently own only the No. 57 pick in the second round and failed to land a lottery pick in the recent NBA Draft Lottery.

“We are preparing like we are still going to be in the first round,” Johnson told ESPN’s Andy Katz at the Chicago Pre-Draft Combine. “We have an unlimited amount of resources within the rules, so you never know. We probably could get into the first round, end of the first round.

Harrisons Still Looking to Decide Early

The recruiting process is starting to “hectic” for the Harrison twins and in an effort to minimize that they are looking to make a decision by the fall — likely around their 18th birthday Oct. 28.

“I [will] probably commit before my senior season starts to get that weight off my shoulders so I can play without that on my mind,” Andrew Harrison, the Rivals No. 1 point guard in the Class of 2013, told SNY.tv by phone from the U.S. U18 trials in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Aaron Harrison, the No. 2 shooting guard in the Class of 2013, added in a separate phone interview that he wanted to decide early “just to get it out of the way. I don’t have to worry about it anymore. Just concentrate on school and getting better and don’t have to worry about everybody asking you the same question over and over.”
