Briscoe Leaning Towards Syracuse

PENNINGTON, N.J. — It’s no shock, really.

But St. Benedict’s Prep rising sophomore guard Isaiah Briscoe says he’s leaning toward Syracuse, the school where his sister Iasia Hemingway plays basketball.

“It’s not my dream school,” he told SNY.tv at the Mary Kline Classic. “I just lean towards it because of my sister.”

George Briscoe, Isaiah’s father, previously told SNY.tv that Syracuse and assistant Adrian Autry were working the hardest on his son.

“Syracuse is working the hardest,” George said in March. “He’s always up there. He loves it.”

Briscoe said he could pull the trigger for a school soon.

“Most likely this summer,” he said.

He and teammate Tyler Ennis often talking about teaming up together, but Ennis would be a junior by the time Briscoe arrives on campus.

“Yeah, we always talk about that, all the time,” Briscoe said. “At Syracuse, at some other schools, we don’t know yet.  All the offers we got that’s the same. We talk about Baylor, Syracuse, Pitt, Seton Hall.

“So all those schools we both got offers from , we just talk about if we’ll go there and things like that.”

Said Ennis: “A lot of people ask us, but he’s a couple years after [me] so he has a lot more to go through than I do.

“A lot can change in four years, you got a lot of time. So hopefully he comes to wherever I go.”
