Memphis, Kansas Latest to Offer McCullough

PENNINGTON, N.J. — The offers just keep rolling in for 2014 forward Chris McCullough.

“I got a lot of new offers, everything’s coming good,” the 6-foot-10 2014 forward told SNY.tv Saturday at the Mary Kline Classic. “Memphis and Kansas.”

McCullough previously held offers from North Carolina, UConn, Syracuse, Arizona, Pittsburgh, St. John’s, Villanova, Rutgers, Miami, Temple, West Virginia, Providence, Louisville, Georgetown, Florida, Seton Hall, Iowa State and Hofstra.

He plans to cut his list down to five or six later on this summer, with Kansas, UConn, Syracuse and St. John’s among those likely to make the cut.

Still, McCullough wanted to make it clear that UConn is not his dream school, despite recent comments attributed to him.

“No, no, that wasn’t true,” he said. “That wasn’t true at all.”

McCullough, who attends the Salisbury (Conn.) School, said he sees similarities between himself and 6-10 2013 forward Jermaine Lawrence, who was named MVP of the Mary Kline underclassmen game after he went for a game-best 27 points.

“Yeah, I mean I grew up with him so we play the same and stuff, same coaches,” McCullough said.

Lawrence has a smooth stroke from downtown and McCullough is also working on developing his outside shot to make his game more versatile.

McCullough plans to attend the Kevin Durant and LeBron James Skills Academies this summer and then cut his list after July.

  • Doesn’t self see zona on his list? Smh

  • Miller keeps coaching like he did last season and Zona will be a non-factor on the recruiting trail for 2014 players. Hard to imagine being a non-factor on the recruiting trail? Picture your season last year and then think recruiting.

  • Picture all the future pros on zonas roster, then picture all the wins next couple of years, then think how much easier millers recruiting will be. Doesn’t seem to be hurting since Arizona is in on 11 of top 29 recruits on rivals for 2014.
Kids don’t care what happened last year when it has nothing to do with them.
On a serious note I think a bad season has much less bearing on a kids choice, then a deep tourney run helps pursuade their decision.

  • When did Chris start blowing up?

Check out all of the tweets …when he was flying to Arizona, for the UofA visit.

I believe the nation was going crazy…. Florida jumped in and offered while he was in Denver (lay over)… LMAO.

A big least school also jumped in, during his flight to Arizona. Again… LMAO.

Chris can confirm that Wildcat Nation just blew him up!! The Tweets don’t lie.

  • PS- There is zero chance that Chris goes to Kansas or Memphis.

    Zero… sorry Phogies.

  • there is zero chance you post here when the season starts (again).

  • UofA BJ…quit being a dbag. There is one certain pro on KU’s roster….Jeffrey Withey…that saw the light and got out of that deteriorating program in the desert.

When you guys make the dance, come holla at me.

Until then, quit talking about the future and what you THINK will happen.

  • convo done…..if your team has to hold on to a single recruiting class and hold out hope……..you ARE NOT CLOSE TO A CONSISTANT PROGRAM. self DOES JUST FINE WITH HIS “25-65” guys…..or any recruit. tell me he doesn’t arizona fan’s? tell me who ku had in the top 5 and who contributed as a whole? selby, henry? guessing the only 2 i can recall, but yet self mixed them with his “scrubs?” self has a program and wins…..you hold out and live on what? take a back seat to a blue blood. you have no argument when it comes to w’s and l’s. at least you have 1 more national title then missouri does…….

  • arizona is that plain jane, not a ku, or a uk, nor a unc. just 1 of the others. won 1 and had a good decade……..oh yeah i forgot, a top 3 recruiting class. watch out now!

  • jessie jessie, the off season uofa champ! never found during the season…..found only since lute circa what? is your football program more successful? fall back preseason

  • waiting for a w’s and l’s convo or a self doesn’t win with his recruits convo asap from a arizona fan……………………………anyway plain janes. in fact….how often does ku get a top 5? yet i see some consistancy?????? huh…..guess its a program?

  • U guys r talking out of your asses.
Sure KU is a top 5 program, even tho they have only 3 titles.(you think they would have more after getting half their wins, b4 basketball was relevant.)
And yes I know zona has only one NC, but any 1 with real knowledge knows UofA is a top 10 program last 30 years. You of all fan bases should recognize what 25 str8 tourneys means, lutes sudden unexpected retirement is only reason streak is not still going. When you miss two str8 recruiting classes you have 2 rebuild from scratch.Which isn’t as easy as calipari made it look couple years ago.

  • well, where to start with plain jane uofabj…..helms do count as well….before the ncaa it was the gold standard. just like before the superbowl good sir….there was a football championship which ironically, those teams count those titles. me personally, count wins. recruiting, recruiting, but ku is not getting top 10 or top 5, or top 20 guys year in and year out. how does self do it uofabj good sir? self blends “scrubs” that are at best in the top 30 and wins……argue sir? all you have is 1 coach “lute” and a great decade. anything more sir? who is ua’s second most successful coach? curious cause i don’t know. again, your not a program when 1 decade, 1 coach, and a top 3 class is all you have to hang on to. let me guess, jessie jessie, says the ncaa is after self

  • and on another note uofabj or any arizona fan, don’t feel sorry for the “3” ncaa titles sir. check wins…………….and another category with numbers or players you wanna go against. i see 2 ku players going into this draft…….lets talk since kansas is on the way down

  • Good decade or quarter century?
Like I said the other day, what r u so proud of?
Do you have any affiliation with university?
Wish I could meet all you KU fans in person.

  • uofabj is putting false #s out beware…..like his brother jessie jessie. he say’s 0-6, i count 2-6 recruiting miller-self for ua/ku……but winsssssssssssssssssss yes sir. uofabj, due your research again young man……last 2 year years and recruits. but also, check wins…..which matter the most. coaching and a blue blood will survive, on the way down haha

  • uofabj, military member, 2 years at ku. proud of basketball period……or what arizona fans like to call success “a quarter century” next question young sir

  • uofa….again?????? 1 good decade?????? who is arizona’s other coach? never got back to on that sir

  • arizona’s 2nd coach issssssssssssssssss? jessie jessie tell me plain jane

  • is arizona 1 of those schools only known because of 1 coach? or that hot job that the new big coach gets the job? confused……shaka is next

  • I could name the coach b4 lute but I’m sure u have never heard of him bc all u know is bs.
Sean miller 3 elite eights in 7 years not worth anything Sargent dOuche.

Guess their r really are faggots in the military ay mike

  • North Carolina, Syracuse, UConn, Louisville and now Kansas and Memphis?

The kid is likely to get quite an ego before it’s all over.
