Carson Desrosiers to Providence

Former Wake Forest center Carson Desrosiers made the call on Tuesday.

The7-footer from Windham, N.H., picked Providence over Vanderbilt and Oregon State.

“Just committed to PC,” he said by text. “I connected with Coach [Ed] Cooley instantly and everybody’s excited for the immediate future of PC basketball, including myself.”

He will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting one season.

Desrosiers played in all 31 games with 16 starts this past season. He averaged 4.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. In 62 career games, Desrosiers averaged 4.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game.

“I will bring a different look at the five man than what PC has had in the past,” he said. “I will be able to spread the floor to open up the paint as well as post up. I will be a presence in the paint defensively.”
