Former Xavier guard Mark Lyons is focusing on three schools and is in the process of setting up visits.
“I’m thinking [about] UK, Arizona and Kansas,” he told SNY.tv Monday by phone.
No visits are currently set up for the junior transfer.
“Not right now,” he said. “I’m in the process of that. I’m also taking finals right now so I’m also trying to finish that up.”
Lyons said he had no favorites at the moment.
“I’m going into this with open eyes and see what the programs provide and see what they got,” he said.
Even though Arizona coach Sean Miller recruited Lyons to Xavier, he said Arizona doesn’t hold an edge.
“No, not at all,” he said.
He said he has spoken with Kentucky’s John Calipari and Kansas’ Bill Self and is “trying to set up some visits with them.”
A 6-foot-1 native of Albany, Lyons averaged 15.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists last season at Xavier.
“I’m gonna do whatever my teams me to do,” he said, “Provide energy, get everybody involved and play defense.”

He’s coming to ZONA.
BOOK IT.

Why would he want to take a back seat to The UCLA Train that is rolling through? #ITISBOOKED

With Zona’s recent success I don’t see how he could pick either of those other two schools…

“Zona’s recent success at what? Oh, it was a joke, good one!”
It’s actually the perfect comment. The Zona trolls think I mean it and we can all laugh at it/them!

We will c soon enough. It boils down to playing time and zona needs a point and KU has ej and UK harrow, Sean miller and book landed him once and they already have great relationship.

fearthephog25 / April 30, 2012
Remember? cal and uk like to run 2point guards at a time.

Remember Sean miller gets who he wants.

Im sure he will……at UCONN. LOL

Must be nice ”getting who he wants” to make a NIT run, or get knocked out by Powerhouse Bucknell at home in the first round. HAHA

Hahaha so funny with your UConn comments .
Get a clue, living in Arizona is as good as it gets and miller has maybe most talent on his roster for next 3 years. Some programs might argue with that comment, but KU isn’t even in the conversation going forward, so your opinion and your 3 star talent will be irellivent in next few years.

i wonder if he liked his visit to uk

Kinda like KU was irrelevent with zero mcds aa’s and made it to the Title Game? If KU is that irrelevent, then I will take irrelevency over zona’s past pathetic basketball seasons. LOL
And correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t Sean Miller a East Coast guy? I recall him being on record saying he wants to be closer to home and family. Ouch! I was a little suprised when he passed on the Maryland job and coaching in the much more powerful ACC.
When the official word of UCONN Opening comes up, after their post season ban. Don’t expect Miller to be around much longer, nobody turns down the UCONN Job. And then I anticipate zona’s next head coach will be the second coming of GOD, and have to hear all your rants and raves once again about how powerful and mighty zona is. haha What a PURE JOKE!! Maybe zona should offer WOJO from Duke. LMAO

I also believe Luke Walton is looking to become a coach. LOL Goodluck in the search. Once again, I feel real bad for Tarc and his decision to be less successful in a rinky dink conference. Look forward to watching UCLA though and see how they mesh together, they have a deep talented squad and their front line is huge. Big Josh and Tony are going to be great to watch, dominating the pac 12.

The Josh and Tony combo at UCLA might be the equivalent to having Jubba the hut and Chet (Weird Science) on the court together, if they can’t lay of the food.

This will be a really fun one to revisit in 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years from today: “Hahaha so funny with your UConn comments .

“nobody turns down UConn job”
Really last time job was open you weren’t even born yet.
More worried about miller to Pitt, and that’s about it.
Although I will admit, that whole Maryland thing last year shocked me.
Honestly don’t think he is leaving to rebuild and start from scratch with a depleted UConn roster. He just got done doing this in Tucson.
You don’t leave with three ***** big men coming in.
Lyons visiting tomorrow, sensing a commitment by Monday. Sorry no visit for kansass.

UofA BJ / May 4, 2012
If miller ever leaves all it takes is one call 2 pastner.
Granted he isn’t the best coach out there, but he can recruit, and is a very hood option.
So again worry about your own problems, like how all your 3 stars will play together.
/
fearthephog25 / May 4, 2012
Sorry bj, didn’t mean to make you cry. Basketball is a business, and it is about moving UP. Granted, zona is a stepping stone to bigger and better. I give you that, so i’ll take my 3 star team and march all the way to the Title game again. Take that anyday over your so called magician miller, who couldn’t even win in the first round of the NIT at home. LAME!!!!!!!!! And you brought excuses as you were expected to, after you pulled your pathetic head out of the sand – you didn’t post for several weeks after NIT Loss to powerhouse Bucknell. Instead chose to look from behind the curtain like a coward, and see what folks were posting about your so called great 5 star talented team. COWARD!! Lyon’s has stated he wants to play DEFENSE, and where do you expect to find DEFENSE being played at? KU, Self don’t put anyone on the floor if you are not all about DEFENSE. And guarantees nobody any playing time minutes, they have to be earned on the DEFENSIVE end. Haven’t you watched KANSAS BASKETBALL? You had plenty of time after your deep NIT run. LOL
