The St. John’s recruitment train rolls on.
Having received commitments this week from Orlando Sanchez, Marco Bourgault and Max Hooper, the Johnnies are hoping to host another group of recruits this weekend.
That group includes Arizona transfer Josiah Turner, San Francisco transfer Justin Raffington, former Johnnies commit Darrick Wood and uncommitted big man Philip Nolan.
Exactly how many of them will visit should be confirmed later today (Wednesday).
As reported by SNY.tv earlier, Turner has ties to St. John’s because he teamed with Sir’Dominic Pointer at Quality Education (N.C.) and also competed against JaKarr Sampson last year at IS8. He is also being recruited by Iona, Missouri and other programs.
St. John’s remains involved with 6-10 big man Michael Chandler, who has previously committed to Louisville, Xavier and UCF but is awaiting word from the NCAA on his academic status.
“He’s got work to do first,” a source said of Chandler’s academic situation.
Allan Chandler, Michael’s uncle, reiterated Wednesday that his nephew hasn’t committed anywhere.
“No commitment yet,” he said by text.
Following the departure of Moe Harkless to the NBA, the Johnnies have five players returning from last year’s team — Pointer, Amir Garrett, Phil Greene, D’Angelo Harrison and God’sgift Achiuwa. They also have transfer guard Jamal Branch, who becomes eligible in December.
With the additions of Sanchez, Bourgault, Hooper, the 6-8 Sampson and 6-3 Felix Balamou, they would have 11 total players for next season, giving them two scholarships left to distribute.

Do you mean hasn’t committed?
