B.J. Hayes Remains Open

Brad Hayes wants to make it clear that his son, 6-foot-11 senior center BradleyB.J.” Hayes, remains uncommitted and is not leaning toward any particular school.

Prior to this weekend’s Pittsburgh JamFest, the younger Hayes told SNY.tv he had trimmed his list to UConn, Georgetown, Florida and Texas A&M.

“Those are schools that have expressed interest,” Brad Hayes told SNY.tv Monday by phone.

After this weekend in Pittsburgh, USF offered and several other schools expressed interest.

“We have not yet made a definite schedule [of visits] at all,” the father said. “He has not made a definite decision at this time.

“We will be taking some visits coming up here shortly but where and when has not yet been determined.”

Brad said he and his wife, Mary, would be taking the lead in terms of meeting with coaches and planning visits.

“We have yet to really sit down with our son and take it to a step two level and deciding exactly what school he wants to attend,” the father said.

“Until that time there is nothing to be discussed any further as far as where he decides to go. That’s going to be a family decision.

“We’ll look at it as a family together and when he makes his decison the information will be released.”
