Thaddeus Hall to South Carolina

Thaddeus Hall is headed to play for Frank Martin at South Carolina.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Brooklyn Thomas Jefferson wing committed to the school Thursday over offers from Fordham, South Carolina, Dayton, St. John’s, Hofstra, Virginia Tech and Maryland.

“I chose them over everyone else because I was very comfortable with the coaches and just want to start my own trend and go somewhere different,” Hall told SNY.by text.

Hall must still take the SAT next month in order to qualify academically.

He said Martin pursued him heavily once he took the job.

“He talked to my mom about how if I was to come there, it will be a great thing,” Hall said. “He said just come in and play hard and get better every day.”

After missing the early part of the season with a back injury and academic concerns, Hall averaged 28.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the PSAL playoffs after averaging 17.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in seven league games during the regular season.

Hall scored 17 points when Jefferson  lost in the PSAL championship game to Boys & Girls last month at Madison Square Garden.

“I play very hard,” he said. “I can lock down any player and I can shoot the lights out of the ball.”

The commitment was first reported by the New York Post.
