Georgetown Meets With B.J. Hayes

Bradley “B.J.” Hayes met with Georgetown coach John Thompson III on Wednesday as part of his recruiting process and is considering the Hoyas along with UConn, Florida and Texas A&M.

“John Thompson made a really strong case for why Georgetown is the best place for BJ Hayes,” a source with knowledge of the meeting told SNY.tv. “JT3 didn’t try to sell him but rather explained why Georgetown is different and how they develop boys in to men both on and off the  court. Roy Hibbert is a great example even though BJ is more Zo [Alonzo Mourning] then Roy.

“Coach Thompson couldn’t believe the potential this kid has. The kid has a chance to be really really special provided he works hard.”

As first reported Wednesday by SNY.tv, the 6-foot-11 Hayes of Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood trimmed his list to four schools, with Florida being the lone school yet to offer.

Florida is also heavily involved with 6-7 Findlay Prep forward Anthony Bennett.

As reported by SNY.tv, Bennett has cut his list and is now down to Florida, Kentucky, UNLV and Oregon.
