Chandler Says He’s OK After Knee Injury

NEW YORK — Tyson Chandler banged knees with Joel Anthony during the third quarter of the Heat-Knicks game but says he doesn’t plan on getting an MRI on his left knee and will play Tuesday against the Celtics.

“I should be fine,” said Chandler, who finished with nine points and five rebounds in the Knicks’ 93-85 loss. “It’s really sore right now. It’s hard to judge anything right now, especially after a game. But I think I’ll be OK. It’s just a bad collision.”

The Knicks fell to 4 1/2 games behind the Celtics in the Atlantic Division but Chandler said the team’s goal was still to win the Division.

“As long as there’s still opportunity for us to get there,” he said. “Until just mathematically we’re not in it that has to be a goal.”
